What roles do you play in your life’s drama?
How do you disguise what you do not want revealed?
In what ways does this help and/or hinder you?
Here is a meditation to support you with this topic.
Meditation from Her Masks
Allow yourself to
drop
your inhibitions, to let
down
your guard
and begin to witness the swirl of categories
with which you have identified yourself –
wife, mother, sister, daughter, diva, crone.
You can choose which façade to display
and when to allow them all to go,
so you can recognize your core,
your essence beneath.
When the winds drop self-examination into your lap,
let their flow astound you with their peeling away
of layers of stories, crustations of masks,
that have allowed you to view yourself
as something other than what you came here as,
the Living Essence of God/Goddess.
Once you glimpse even a portion of this,
you are forever aware that you are more
than any outward appearance
or self-appointed role you’ve attained,
more than any category or “box,”
more than any achievement
or self-proclaimed value you have occupied.
You are living, breathing light,
allowing forms and formulas to evaporate
into the mist that remains apparent
only to those who believe in Illusion.
For you are beyond all Earthly experiences and expectations,
you are Divine Essence, come to live in Union,
Truth, and Harmony with All Creation.
And you are available for exploring your essence now.
Be with your Living Breath of Light.
Pour your thoughts and expressions out to it.
Fulfill yourself by drinking in the Divine Mystery
of Your Essential Nature,
beyond language,
beyond thought
and beyond all expectation,
to Core Reality.
And so it is.
Amen.
